Pulau Lang Tengah
Pulau Lang Tengah is a small postcard island with only 3 resorts located halfway between Perhentian Island and Pulau Redang.
The name Lang Tengah means “eagle in the middle” in Malay and refers to the Location of the island sandwhiches between Perhentian Islands and Redang.
Boats to Lang Tengah leave from the jetty in Merang, about 45min drive north of Kuala Terengganu. The small and open speed boats take about 45min to reach the island from Merang.
Pulau Lang Tengah is not necessarily a destination for backpackers on a budget. The 3 resorts are somewhere in the medium to upper price range. However, for volunteers who want to help at Lang Tengah Turtle Watch project at turtle bay, discounted open air beds and experiences are available. Besides that Lang Tengah can’t compete with the beaches and snorkel spots of it’s neighbours Redang and Perhentian island, but it makes up in privacy and seclusion and some truly gorgeous views.
