grin This is a great place. Under new management apparently, everything clean, comfy, with ornaments and artworks, great beds, fast wifi/internet, friendly young staff. Single/dorm/twin rooms available, on four levels… it would be a bit of a walk up to the top floor though! Dorms beds were 35MR when I stayed, including a good, real, kitchen and comfy sitting room areas with sofas. I had a room with double bed, wood floors and panelling, marble bathroom for 105!I wouldn’t stay anywhere else now I’ve found this. A real treat. It’s not hard to find, its just off Jalan Nagasari opposite the big curry house. Great place to eat!

We were due to stay here on the 10th and 11th of April but couldn’t find the place. We asked someone at number 25 and he said the place was closed due to a fire!

Alcohol

Being a majority muslim country, alcohol is rather expensive compared to other Asian countries because of the so-called sin taxes. But alcohol is served in most convenience stores and Chinese restaurants. It’s also cheap in Langkawi because it is the status of a duty-free zone.
